AMRITA Rehabilitation Center is run by a multi disciplinary team which consists of Rehabilitation Psychologists, Special educators, Physiotherapist, Speech Therapist & Occupational Therapist.

The services provided are:-

PSYCHOLOGICAL INTERVENTION

Disabilities in children not only have a significant psychological impact on a child but also on his/her family . Psychological assessment and intervention help in overcoming the emotional, cognitive, behavioral and interpersonal problems that may arise.
Our Rehabilitation Psychology program help Children with mental retardation, downs syndrome, Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, cerebral palsy, Autism, Multiple disabilities, Learning disabilities and slow learners.
The intervention plan is made considering the psychological aspects of the child's development. Parental counseling and guidance regarding child's developmental needs is provided on regular basis.

EARLY INTERVENTION
Early intervention unit is specially designed to provide services like physiotherapy, speech therapy and sensory stimulation to children from birth to 3yrs of age that have a developmental delay, or are considered to be environmentally and biologically at risk. Early Intervention is aimed to accelerate the rate of overall development in a child. It helps the child to acquire new skills, which further increase the level of independence in a child.

SENSORY INTEGRATION
This unit caters to the stimulation of individual's sensory needs. It provides multi sensory therapy for tactile, visual, auditory, proprioceptive and vestibular sensations.

SPEECH THERAPY
Speech and Language delay and deviant development are often the features of developmental disabilities. At AMRITA, the speech therapist uses a developmental approach to evaluate child's overall levels and patterns of functioning. The aim of intervention is to understand the nature and extent of a child's difficulties and to facilitate better communication to the best possible extent.

PHYSIOTHERAPY
Role of Physiotherapy for several disorders cannot be over emphasized. Amrita provides state of the art physiotherapy to children with the following disorders and many more: Physiotherapists here examine, evaluate, diagnose, prognosticate & plan for care & intervention for children with any of the above disorders and many more.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
As a parent, you have concerns for your child and if you find your kid not developing like their peers; you are likely to be all anxious. But don’t worry! Help is at hand.
Occupational Therapy aims at enabling the child to be as physically, socially and psychologically independent as possible. Occupational Therapist work with children who have inadequate motor coordination and planning (praxis), sensory processing dysfunctions, lack of oral motor control and poor hand functions, impaired cognitive skills, poor academics and limited play skills. Disorders we address are- REMEDIAL THERAPY and INDIVIDUALIZED EDUCATIONAL PLANNING
One on one intervention program(IEP) and remedial therapy is provided to the Children with mental retardation, downs syndrome, Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, cerebral palsy, Autism, Multiple disabilities, Learning disabilities and slow learners.
Children with learning disabilities are trained for cognitive skills with PREP and COGENT, a cognitive program.

TIMINGS: 10:00am to 04:00p.m. Monday to Saturday.
